In recent weeks, Selena Gomez has been seen wearing various pieces of our jewelry. We couldn’t more excited about this because she is one of our favorite fashionistas and starlettes. Here is a round up of everything she’s been seen wearing so far:

Here, Selena was seen twice in one week wearing the Cigar Band Ring in Gold. It has since become one of our most popular items. 

Also, Selena wore the Cigar Band Ring again in addition to the Single Knot Cuff and the Skinny Cuff while at a TV appearance in Europe

Most recently, Selena was seen in the Nashota Necklace in Antique Brass while at to lunch in LA.

Shantel VanSanten of One Tree Hill wore a ton of our jewelry at the Twentieth Century FOX Screening Lot Party. She is wearing the Casablanca Jeweled Cuff in Rose Gold with a Clear Stone, Triple Cuff in Antique Silver, Neha Single Cuff in Rose Gold, Small Chain Rings, Studded  Stacking Ring Set, and Duster Earring in Gunmetal. 

NBC’s The Voice contender Amber Carrington shined and advanced another week while wearing the Deco Diamond Ring in Gold/Taupe Leather.

Amidst the amazing performances of performers such as Miguel, Justin Bieber, and Miley Cyrus were the fashion of the music industry’s biggest starlets and others who took part in one of music’s biggest nights. With any music award show, you can expect to find a wide array of glamour and attention-grabbing mishaps. Throughout the chaos, one trend shined the brightest: sheers.

Happy Earth Day everyone!  Here at the office we believe that we should take care of our beautiful planet, after all you can have all of the greatest accessories but without our Earth, nowhere to wear them!  All jokes aside, we researched a few easy ways that you can celebrate Earth Day and give back to the place we all call home.

1. Plant a garden, spring is here and there is nothing better than having a home grown tomato and some fresh basil, or whatever fruits, veggies and herbs are your favorite.
2. Volunteer, go clean up litter at your local park and then maybe just stay and hang out, why not bring a picnic?
3. Speaking of picnicking, go pick up your food from the farmers market, you’ll be supporting the local economy and decreasing the greenhouse gas required to transport your food to a supermarket.
4. Be a true tree hugger and give your favorite tree a much needed and well-deserved hug!

So go ahead and throw you and your friends an Earth Day picnic extravaganza, just don’t forget to turn off the lights at home before you leave!

As much as we all love April, those April showers can put a damper on an otherwise delightful day, after all no one likes soggy feet and clothes! Not to worry we have a perfect solution and fun DIY to keep you feet dry, but more importantly stylish in the rain.  Introducing our Rain Boot DIY; all you need are a pair of old galoshes , a few basic crafting necessities and some great inspiration!

Inspiration #1: Fun with Ribbon

This first look is a simple way to add a little personality to your boots.  All you need is some ribbon, grommets and voila, a stylish boot ready to help you battle the elements.

Inspiration #2: Styled by Sharpie

The second look we love requires even fewer materials, and by fewer we mean all you need is a Sharpie marker and a hint of creativity.  You can stick to the same checkered pattern seen below or if you’re feeling daring why not try a cool chevron pattern?

Inspiration #3: Polka Time

Polka dots are a staple for any fashionista, so why not get your daily dose of dots on your boots?  We suggest paint and a circle shaped sponge brush do accomplish this feat.  If you’re feeling really daring mix and match the polka dot colors and sizes.

Inspiration #4: Hand-Painted

Well, this may be the trickiest of the rain boot DIY’s, but well worth the effort.  Go ahead and paint some pretty flowers as seen below or anything you can think of.  You can create a one-of-a kind boot that will be the envy of all your friends!

The Fall Ready-to-Wear shows inspired many trends and we would be remiss if we didn’t highlight all of the long pendant necklaces that graced the runways. 

Tory Burch and Trina Turk both kept the pendants simple, whereas Ruffian had the most dramatic tassel pendant.  In between these two extremes we saw Anna Sui and Oscar de la Renta both incorporate deep purple hues into their pendant necklaces.  Not to mention the funky geometric pendant necklace that Jeremy Laing debuted.

A refreshing change to the collars and chokers, the long pendant necklace is a versatile piece and more importantly a crucial accessory for any fall wardrobe.  Let your pendant necklace stand-alone or layer it with some other of your favorite necklaces.  Take a look at some of our favorite Nissa pendant necklaces, and keep an eye out for one of these gorgeous pieces for tomorrow’s Winning Wednesday! 

The weather is getting warmer and with spring comes the abundant music festivals.  This weekend Coachella kicks off its first weekend of music filled decadence.  In preparation for Coachella we have put together a few lookbook ideas to help you plan your perfect festival outfit.

Look #1: Ethereal

For all of you free spirits, try pairing a simple printed dress with a wedge sandal for an effortless look.  Bring a little edge to your ensemble with your accessories and then top it all off with a floral crown.

Look #2: Gypsy chic

No wardrobe is complete without a maxi dress or skirt; they are the perfect duet of comfort and charm.  Here we chose a lace insert maxi skirt and crop top matched with a fringe sandal and wide brimmed hat.  As far as accessories, glam up this look with a pendant necklace and oodles of bracelets and bangles!

Look #3: Rebel yell

Last but certainly not least, our rebel yell look plays on darker hues, combining a black denim short and lone wolf tee.  Toss on a black slouchy beanie and octagon sunnies, and complete the look with some eye-catching jewelry.

Unfortunately we can’t all go to Coachella, but here’s a list of other cool music festivals to check out.  Or better yet style yourself in one of these looks and go watch your friends’ band play in a garage—either way, live music is always a win.

Teal has been taking over the runways—and we love that this underrated color is getting some much-needed attention!  Teal in itself is a unique color.  Is it blue?   Is it green?  Maybe a little bit of both.  What we do know for sure is that this vibrant color is a showstopper that is sure to turn heads. 

In the Fall 2013 Fashion Weeks, this heavenly hue sauntered down the runways in various forms—all of which were fabulous.  Models wore this stunning shade from head to toe—something most of us would shy away from.

The teal trend didn’t stop there.  Bold accessories took center stage during Chloe and Narsico Rodriguez’s shows.  And we’re whole-heartedly obsessed with Ellie Saab’s totally teal look (centered below). 

We couldn’t talk about teal without highlighting how well Oscar de la Renta incorporated the color into his fall line.  We absolutely love how the cobalt complements then green/blue hue—really making it pop.

In honor of “National Mom & Pop Buisness Owners Day”, we wanted to share the story of how our company got its start. Who better to tell the tale than Nissa herself, right? Enjoy the interview with the Founder and Chief Designer of Nissa Jewelry below:)

When would you say your infatuation with jewelry started?

I have been interested in jewelry and fashion for as long as I can remember. When I was in design school for fashion, my interest in jewelry became stronger and I started creating my own pieces. 

Was there a specific event that triggered your desire to start your own business?

I was laid off from my position in fashion advertising in NYC due to the recession and decided I needed a change. Definitely not the most ideal time to start up a business, but I was able to adapt and grow even in a very difficult environment and well, we’re still here!

What was something that you did not anticipate being so challenging in the beginning states of Nissa Jewelry?

Designing interesting pieces while still keeping the price point down was such a challenge and is definitely an ongoing challenge. It can be tough to design interesting, unique, creative, and wearable pieces while still keeping many of them under $150 or $100 retail.

What is the most rewarding part of having your own company?

I get to do something I love for a living.  It doesn’t get better than that :)

Recently, we’ve found ourselves taking detours down the Easter candy aisle on our grocery store visits. Yeah, we’re on the hunt for those delicious Reese’s peanut butter eggs (why are the holiday shapes so much better than the normal ones?), but we also love to linger among the pretty pastel packaging of all of the candy. 

Spring is the season to bring out the soft and soothing color palette and we are more than ready to welcome the happy hues into our wardrobe. Whether it’s through a pair of pants or an awesome accessory, there isn’t a wrong way to incorporate a pop of pastel into your ensemble.
